The TracerMate II is an integrated leak test solution used to detect microleaks by measuring for a concentration of helium, hydrogen, or other trace gas escaping from a sealed part. The TracerMate II can be used for leak location, accumulation, nitrogen purge, and hard vacuum tracer gas leak testing. It is also uniquely designed to perform a high-resolution pressure decay test and tracer gas leak location all with the same instrument—no need to buy two separate systems, and you can do both tests at a single station.

Sniffer leak testing systems for leak location
Atmospheric sniff leak testing, or sniffer testing, is a low-cost tracer gas leak testing method that uses a sniffer probe to detect the presence of tracer gas and pinpoint the location of a leak. During the sniffer test, a part or component is first evacuated, then filled with tracer gas. The sniffer probe is then moved over the surface of the part to detect any leaks. The TracerMate II integrates with a mass spectrometer or gas analyzer for a simple “plug and play” leak location system, particularly useful for:
- Testing subassembly joints and part connections
- Testing final assemblies, including connection points
- Testing assemblies at a rebuild station (locate and fix a leak, then retest)
Eliminate environmental factors affecting the accuracy of your sniff test with patented Nitrogen Purge technology
Traditional open-air sniffing or conventional clamshell tracer gas leak testing methods cannot reliably detect leaks on joints or fittings where the permissible leak rate is low—i.e. 0.5 grams of loss per year. Without the right controls in place, environmental factors (background) will affect the accuracy of your leak test measurement.
The TracerMate II Nitrogen Purge System combines the TracerMate II and the CTS purging clamshell, which is clamped onto joint(s) being tested. When attached to the joint under test, the clamshell closes off and controls the environment around the joint, providing a more accurate, reliable test. The purging clamshell eliminates the cost of a sniffing booth, removes potential operator error, and takes the variability out of your test so you can get to low leak rates easily and repeatably.
Benefits of the TracerMate II Nitrogen Purge System:
- Patented technology
- Low pressure Nitrogen reduces background to 10-7 atm-cc/s range
- Hand-held and benchtop fixtures available for a range of applications
- Standard sizes fit common joints and fittings in HVAC-R, etc.
- Custom designs available
Tracer gas leak testing instruments and support in India
Tracer gas leak testing provides high sensitivity, accuracy, and repeatability, and is often used to test parts with very low leak rates (microleaks in the range of 1×10-4 to 10-9 scc/s). Sciemetric India’s leak test application engineers will work with to understand your test process and environment to ensure an accurate, reliable tracer gas leak test.
